So Mutch Fun
Well, they just drove away. Bound for more relative and more holidays. And we're still here. A little more tired and sad to see them go.
It was Sunday around noon when they drove up. We had Deeds locked up so she wouldn't go wild. When they came in we gave Annika a treat to give to Deeds. The girls were a little nervous around her but they soon got to love her. Anyway, we had lunch and visited for awhile. Then it was time for the girls to have a nap so we visited some more. After everyone was up again, Mark took Justin and Annika fishing. They caught some perch and we had it for a snack later that night. Mark took a picture of Annika's first fish (I'll post it as soon as I get it developed). When they got home, they hadn't filleted the fish so I took a picture of the three of them holding all the fish. I'll post that one soon too. While they were on the lake, I took Julie and Naomi blueberry picking. It was a little interesting getting one year old into the bush but it worked. She was in the stroller and then once we hit the rock, Julie carried the stroller. We picked a lot of berries and had them for dessert. The other three got home after supper. I had made pizza so we enjoyed it by ourselves and once the others got home, we cooked up the fish and ate pizza and fish. Yummy.
The next morning I woke up too early. I don't think I can have kids until I can get up early in the morning. Well, I got up anyway and we had some breakfast. It looked like it was going to be a nice day. We all went berry picking after breakfast. It was a little cool but warming up. We went back and had some lunch and then packed up the car to go to the beach. It was nicer then but the breeze was still a little chilly. We made some sand castles, found some shells (Mark found a really nice one). And then we braved the water. Once your legs went numb it wasn't so bad. We brought a picnic lunch so we ate at the beach. Then it was time to go. On the way back, we stopped at a spot on the highway where they had been blasting rocks to build the causeways. We picked out some nice rocks for Julie and Justin's yard. They were heavy! After naps, we had a BBQ and had hamburgers. Julie and Justin's friend lives here so they wanted to make sure to see her and her family. So the boys went fishing and the girls went visiting. They live on a lake so Annika played with their son on the dock. There were some minnows and baby ducks that she wanted to catch in the net. I managed to get some minnows but the ducks never came quite close enough. It was getting late so we went home. The boys didn't get home until dark. They had forgotten to take bait so the first jack they caught, they used it for bait. They caught a lot of jack but only caught one pickerel. We had it for breakfast this morning. Very yummy. This morning we woke up early again and had breakfast. Then they had to get ready and go. We had so much fun it was sad to see them leave so soon. They took some blueberries with them and a few movies for the road. They have a long drive coming up. And come to think about it, so do we soon. I guess it's still another week and a bit. It's going to be nice to see the family again.
P.S. The big hole in the middle of the street was full of water so the city crew is pumping it out today...right into our yard! Ug, and our yard was almost dry.
