Volume 1

Friday 8:19am
Got away around 7:45am...early. Filled up on gas and tried to wash the windows. Drove down the Hanson Lake Road. Thought I forgot something so we stopped to check. I didn't. Continued on. We're out of the rocks already. Now there's just trees and water. Deeds is cuddling with Mark now. Listening to country. Good radio. I'm kinda anxious to see the prairies. I've grown to love this scenery and I don't know how I'll react when I go back "home".

10:06am
Just started raining. So far all our stuff is dry. Really coming down.

12:28pm
We're still alive. When I said it was really coming down, I had no idea. Just after, it started pouring. We had to slow way down and still couldn't see two feet in front. It lasted for a long time and we were both getting pretty nervous. But we survived and all the stuff in the back of the truck is still dry. We stopped in P.A. for gas and a snack. Some woman came up to Mark and asked him for directions and Mark didn't know so she slurred back "You're cool man." I really don't like P.A. So we're going on the #2 highway. I'm lost but Mark seems to know where he's going. We stopped just out of town to let Deeds pee. She took her sweet time but she finally did. We went through St. Louis. It had an incredibly narrow bridge. I hated it. I shut my eyes and told Mark to tell me when it was over. So he said it was over...but it wasn't! I yelled at him. So we survived showers, drunks and rickety bridges. I can only wonder what's next. Had my first glimpse of prairie. yeah, I still like it.

Sunday 12:11pm
We got into Moose Jaw just fine. Dee Dee and I fell asleep just outside of Chamberlain. We had BBQ steak and farmer sausage for supper. Yummy. Then after supper we went to Matt and Crystal's new home for visiting and we played Life. I lost. The next morning we woke up early and drove to Eastend to see the Dinosaur Exhibit. It was really interesting. All the bones in the museum were replicates but in the museum they have a research area where they work on the real bones. It's all behind glass so we can see the real bones in plaster. They are huge, but then again, so was the real T-Rex. We stopped in Swift Current for ice cream on the way back. This morning we went to church and are going to have hamburgers and an early anniversary celebration. Yeah!

3:46pm
Got back from Wal-Mark and developed our disposable camera. It was the one we took fishing. Got some good shots.
